Snus vs Nicotine Pouches

Traditional snus contains tobacco. Modern nicotine pouches don't. Same format, completely different ingredients. Here's the short version.

The short answer

Traditional Swedish snus is moist ground tobacco in a pouch, placed under the upper lip. Brown pouches, tobacco taste.

Modern nicotine pouches (often called "white snus") look and work the same way but contain no tobacco at all. White pouches, cleaner flavours, more strength options.

In Indonesia, what's sold as "snus" is almost always a modern tobacco-free nicotine pouch. Traditional tobacco snus is effectively unavailable through the legal supply chain.
